New champion to be crowned at Coral Coast 7s Women’s competition

A new champion will be crowned at this year’s McDonalds Fiji Coral Coast 7s Women’s competition.

Current champions Striders went down to Marist Seahawks 1 22-14 in the first semifinal.

Marist Seahawks scored four tries with Sereima Leweniqila and Mereula Tooroti scoring one try each and Rusila Tamoi getting a double.

The Striders fell short with only two tries from Timaima Ravisa and Maria Rokotuisiga.

In the second semifinal the Fiji Development 7s team defeated Scion Woo 29-5.

In the bowl semifinals, Lautoka Crusaders defeated Hope Rugby Club 17-12 and Outrigger Knights out classed Marist Seahawks 2 7-5.

The plate semifinals, Fiji Airports Nadi Aviators overcame Fiji Airports Nadi Blazers 24-0 while Stars USA Women defeated Hong Kong Women 12-0.

The Cup final for the Women’s competition will see Marist Seahawks 1 and Fijiana Development 7s team face off  at 3.40pm today.
