Captain for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7's team Kalione Nasoko

Captain for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7's team, Kalione Nasoko says that preparations towards the Oceania 7's has been going really well.

Nasoko says that he was nervous when Gareth Baber had told him that he was to captain the team.

He adds that there are a lot of leaders in the team such as Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou and Sevuloni Mocenacagi, who will help with the pressure of captaincy.

Nasoko says preparation for the HSBC 7's series is also underway and the coaching staff is working diligently with the new players.

The captain also says that the new players are fitting into the team and that they have brought with them a new level of competitiveness with the likes of Napolioni Ratu.

He says that they have a great opportunity to show Baber their worth and he says that they have a good chance to represent Fiji to the first 2 legs of the series.

The team had earlier visited Nabua Primary School and are now in a training session at Albert Park.

Meanwhile, Fiji will take on Solomon Islands at 4.57pm Friday and they will then take on PNG at 8.06pm Friday.

The Oceania 7s will be held on Friday and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
