Fiji Airways Men’s National 7's playmaker Amenoni Nasilasila has been named as the 13th player for the Cape Town Sevens which kicks off tonight.
With 59 tries scored so far in his international career, Nasilasila will be hoping to increase his individual points this weekend.
Unfortunately, Nasilasila will not be able to play during Fiji’s first two pool matches after he received a three-match suspension last weekend for a dangerous tackle.
He has served a match suspension in Dubai and will be unavailable for selection in the first two pool games in South Africa.
This was described by Coach Gareth Baber as disappointing however, he says Nasilasila is working on improving this weekend.
Baber has named a strong 12-men lineup for Cape Town 7's.
Captain Kalione Nasoko will again take charge with former Captain Jerry Tuwai.
Other players are Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Mesulame Kunavula, Apenisa Cakaubalavu, Meli Derenalagi, Vilimoni Botitu, Waisea Nacuqu, Alasio Naduva, Vatemo Ravouvou and newcomers Aminiasi Tuimaba and Beniamino Vota.
Fiji will take on France in their first pool match at 9.59 tonight.
They will take on Kenya at 1.20am tomorrow and then play their last pool match against England at 5.03am tomorrow.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 11.04pm tomorrow, semifinals will start at 3.34am Monday and the Cup Final will be played at 6.44am Monday.
