Rising Fiji Pearls star Alisi Naqiri

Rising Fiji Pearls star Alisi Naqiri is expecting brutal competition from Wales when they will meet in their first Netball World Cup match this Friday.

The goal defender who made her debut at the Pacific Games in PNG says Wales will be challenging to beat because they continue to be an improving team.

Naqiri who plays for the Tiger Sharks in the Asian league is confident that they will come through with a win because they have a balanced squad.

The Fiji Pearls are currently ranked 7th in the World while Wales is in 8th position.

They are also pooled with Uganda who are ranked 14th and Zambia who are ranked 18th.

The Fiji Pearls will play Wales this Friday in the Preliminary Round matches at 11.05pm.

Fiji will then face Uganda at 1.20pm on Saturday, before taking on Zambia at 5.20pm on Sunday.

The Qualifying Round Matches will start from next Monday.
