Nakarawa commissioned into Territorial Force as platoon commander of Bravo Company 7th Battalion

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians lock Leone Nakarawa was commissioned into the Territorial Force as a platoon commander of Bravo Company Seventh Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment by Commander Republic of Fiji Military Forces Viliame Naupoto at the Officers Training Centre in Vatuwaqa on Wednesday.

Naupoto congratulated Nakarawa for his dedication to duty and loyalty to his country as a military man and a rugby player.

He told Nakarawa that his achievements and current role as a national rugby representative including his status as an Olympic Gold medallist is exemplary to junior soldiers and young people in general.

He added that Nakarawa in his capacity as role model deserves this recognition.

Nakarawa thanked the RFMF for this recognition and says that he will continue to strive for the best.

He will play for the Flying Fijians when they face Georgia at 3.30pm tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
