Sefanaia Naivalu will play Super Rugby for the Rebels until the end of 2019.
Naivalu, affectionately known as Super Sefa, has scored six tries in 19 appearances for the Rebels since his Super Rugby debut against the Crusaders in the opening round last year.
Melbourne Rebels Head Coach Tony McMahan said that Sefa is a critical part of the Rebels plans moving forward.
The Rebels face the Force at 6.05pm this Sunday.
In other matches the Hurricanes will play the Highlanders at 7.35pm Friday while the Waratahs will go head to head with the Chiefs at 9.40pm Friday.
