Fiji born, Isi Naisarani scored a spectacular try for the Brumbies last night but it was not enough as the Chiefs thumped the Australians 38‑26 in a pre-season Super Rugby match on the Sunshine Coast last night.
The former Ratu Kadavulevu School student showed some lightning speed when he found some space.
Naisarani picked up a loose ball near halfway and dashed clear like a thoroughbred for an electric second‑half try.
Australian Super Rugby teams lost all 26 games to Kiwi opponents last year, and the Chiefs were swarming all over the Brumbies in the first half with ball control proving a real problem for the Brumbies.
According to Stuff.co, even the Brumbies' website couldn't cope with the Kiwi onslaught, crashing in the first half.
Chiefs halfback Brad Weber staked a claim for the No 9 jersey following Tawera Kerr‑Barlow's French defection with a first‑half hat‑trick that set up their 33‑7 lead just after halftime.
In two pre-season matches today, the Hurricanes will face the Blues at 4pm in Auckland while the Crusaders will take on the Highlanders at 5pm in Otago.
Players like David Havili, Seta Tamanivalu, Jack Goodhue, Richie Mo'unga and Sam Whitelock will feature for the Crusaders.
