Highlanders wing Waisake Naholo is contemplating a move to Super Rugby rivals the Chiefs to be closer to his family and friends.
Naholo's contract with New Zealand Rugby expires at the end of the season and the interest in the 26‑year‑old's services comes as no surprise.
Naholo's partner lives in Cambridge and his two brothers are close by in Hastings and being closer to them seems like it would be the biggest factor in Naholo's decision.
Naholo says joining the Chiefs means he will be closer to them and being close to family is important for his rugby career.
He says he will make a decision in a few more weeks.
In other Super Rugby matches, the Highlanders take on the Reds at 7.35pm Friday, the Sunwolves play the Blues at 3.05pm Saturday, the Hurricanes play the Crusaders at 7.35pm Saturday while the Sharks play the Lions at 3.15am Sunday.
