As Nadroga prepare for the last HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy challenge against Lautoka this weekend, Union President Tiko Matawalu has confirmed that they are yet to receive their bonus win payments from the fourth to the seventh challenge.
Matawalu says the Fiji Rugby Union owes them more than $20,000 in bonus payments and gate takings for this year.
HFC Bank is giving $5000 for the Farebrother winner every Saturday while the best player receives $250.
Matawalu says they are worried about their players’ welfare.
He adds that the players are fortunate to have the overwhelming support of the vanua of Nakuruvarua who have provided food for the players in camp over the past few months.
Meanwhile FRU CEO Radrodro Tabualevu told Legend FM Sports that they have already made the payments from the 1st to the 5th challenge and are yet to make the payments of the 6th and 7th challenge.
He adds that they are sorting out this issue and are expected to finalize the payments this week.
Nadroga will take on Lautoka at 3pm Saturday at Lawaqa and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
