Nemani Nadolo delivered an outstanding performance last night to help the Crusaders keep their slim Super Rugby playoffs alive as they stopped the Hurricanes from sealing top spot for at least another week with a 35‑18 win in Nelson.
The Fijian winger was at his block‑busting best as he set up two tries and scored another for the Crusaders, while All Blacks first‑five Dan Carter had a superb kicking game, slotting three penalties and three conversions.
Halfback Mitchell Drummond, winger Nafi Tuitavake, flanker Matt Todd and Nadolo all scored for the Crusaders, who still have an outside chance of making the playoffs, depending on the results of other matches.
The Crusaders led 16-8 at halftime.
However, the Brumbies have ended the Bulls playoff hopes with a 22‑16 victory in Canberra last night.
This result puts the Brumbies provisionally on top of the Australian Super Rugby Conference.
The Sharks have also beaten the Rebels 25-21 in their match this morning.
Tonight, the Highlanders meet the Chiefs at 7.35pm while the Western Force play the Reds at 9.40pm.
The Stormers meet the Cheetahs at 3.05am tomorrow while defending champions the Waratahs face the Lions at 5.10am.
