Montpellier and Fiji winger Nemani Nadolo will have an extended period on the sidelines to have knee surgery.
Nadolo’s procedure on his knee cartilage will begin on Monday according a report in French publication.
Nadolo confirmed the news by re-tweeting the article.
The length of time he’ll be out has yet to be finalised, but the 30‑year‑old is expected to be out for around four months which represents a huge blow for the French club who begin their Heineken Champions Cup campaign by hosting Edinburgh next Saturday.
The 130kg powerhouse recently signed a new contract to keep him at the Top 14 club until 2021.
