Nadi stuns Labasa, will face Suva in Fiji Fact final

The Nadi soccer team forced its way into the final of the Vodafone Fiji Fact at Ratu Cakobau Park after stunning the defending champions 3-2 in the first semifinal.

Nadi, being 2-0 down, came back strongly to equalize 2-2 and force the match into the extra-time.

The lone western team stunned the northerners when William Valentine scored the winner in the 5th minute of the first extra spell to make it 3-2.  

Valentine earlier on made an own goal which gave Labasa the lead in the second half as minutes later Ratu Anare’s bullet shot zoomed into the back of the net for Labasa’s second goal.

Nadi captain Napolioni Qasevakatini brought Nadi back into the game after being 2-0 down when he scored their first goal from the spot kick.

Lekima Gonerau equalized in the 38th minute of the second half for Nadi after a lapse of concentration by the Labasa defenders.

In the second semifinal, Suva defeated Rewa 1-0 with a Setareki Hughes powerful drive in the 7th minute.
