The Kenya 7s team

The Kenya 7s team will still be without the big names as they head to the next leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series in Hamilton and Sydney.

The likes of Collins Injera, Andrew Amonde, Nelson Oyoo, Dan Sikuta, Willy Ambaka, Oscar Ouma and Billy Odhiambo who have been in disagreement with the Kenya Rugby Union over pay and have not been training are all out of the upcoming meets.

Coach Paul Murunga has named an inexperienced side comprising five debutants.

The Kenyan rugby union has changed the salary structure and reduced players' pay as it faces a host of financial problems.

The reduction reportedly nearly halves the initial highest wage players would receive from $FJ3,500 down to $FJ1900.

This move has been rejected by many players in the 2018 19 season.

As part of that rejection, those players have refused contracts and been boycotting training.

Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team will depart for Hamilton tomorrow.

Fiji will take on Wales in their first match of the Hamilton 7s at 10.52am next Saturday, they will then face Argentina at 2.42pm and will take on Australia at 6.52pm in their last pool game next Saturday.

The Cup quarters will start at 10.36am next Sunday, the semifinals will kick off at 3.16pm and the final will start at 7.10pm next Sunday.
