Former Kangaroos and current Parramatta Eels centre Michael Jennings has confirmed his availability to play for the Fiji Bati at this year’s Rugby League World Cup.
Speaking to Fijivillage, FNRL CEO Timoci Naleba confirmed that Jennings has showed interest to play for the Bati.
Naleba says that Jennings has been in constant contact with Fiji Bati Head Coach Mick Potter who is currently in Australia.
The 29-year-old who has links to Rotuma has represented the Australian Kangaroos and Tongan Rugby League side at previous World Cups and is now putting his hand up for the Bati side.
If all goes well, fans can expect a blistering combination between Jennings and Hayne, a combination which won the 2014 State of Origin series for New South Wales.
The Fiji Bati is expected to march into camp on the 8th of October ahead of the Battle of the Bati and the Rugby League World Cup.
Jennings and Semi Radradra will start for the Eels when they take on the Rabbitohs at 9.50pm tomorrow.
