Vodafone Flying Fijians coach, John McKee is hoping that star Waratahs winger Taqele Naiyaravoro will be a man of his word after verbally agreeing to play for Fiji in the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
Last week, McKee stopped over in Sydney to speak to Naiyaravoro and discuss his availability for his country of birth.
The 23 year old is being been eyed by the Wallabies and Waratahs coach Michael Cheika with a possible test cap for Australia in the Rugby World Cup.
McKee says Fiji needs the best players and Naiyaravoro is undoubtedly the man of the moment after indicating to play for Fiji.
Naiyaravoro’s power and pace to score tries has seen him being tagged as the “New Jonah Lomu”.
McKee adds that Fiji may have the best back line in world rugby with quality players like of Napolioni Nalaga, Timoci Nagusa, Waisea Nayacalevu, Nemani Nadolo, Josh Matavesi, Sevens star Savenaca Rawaca, Nikola Matawalu, Albert Vulivuli, Jone Macilai, Metuisela Talebula, Watisoni Votu and Vereniki Goneva.
Naiyaravoro is expected to make his decision before the Pacific Nations Cup.
The Pacific Nations Cup will be held on July 18th with Fiji taking on Tonga at the ANZ Stadium.
The Rugby World Cup will be held from the 19th of September to the 1st of November.
Fiji will take on England in the opening match of the tournament.
