Canada’s Gabe Mastromatteo labeled as the underdog in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke snatched gold from USA’s Daniel Roy who was the favorite.
USA’s Daniel Roy had come into the final as the favorite while Mastromatteo came in second in the preliminaries with a time of 1.02.46.
In other results, Gretchen Walsh of USA won gold in the women’s 100m Freestyle, team mate Lucie Nordman took home the silver while Australia’s Eliza King grabbed the bronze.
The Men’s 100m Freestyle saw USA’s Drew Kibler win the gold with a time of 49.42, Japans Keisuke Ishizaki settled for Silver while USA’s Adam Chaney took home Bronze.
Emily Weiss took home gold for USA in the Women’s 100m Backstroke and Canada’s Nina Kucheran bagged a silver while Kucheran’s team mate, Avery Wiseman took home the bronze.
Women’s 400m relay saw team USA add another gold and silver to their tally while Japan settled for bronze.
The Men’s 400m relay saw USA bag a Gold and a silver Medal while Japan again settled for the Bronze medal.
The Women’s 4 x 200m Relay saw USA again taking gold as Australia grabbed the silver and another bronze for Japan.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 4 x 200 Freestyle Relay saw USA taking home gold with Japan and Australia settling for silver and bronze respectively.
USA currently leads the overall medal tally with 14 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze followed by Australia with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze while China and Canada sit in third place with a gold each.
