Marist wins U17 title after beating Lelean

Marist after winning the Under-17 title

Marist Brothers High School defeated Lelean Memorial School 25-18 in the Under 17 final of the Fiji Secondary Schools rugby competition at Churchill Park today.

Centre, Simon Lilicama who played his last game for Marist today said this is a memorable win as he will be leaving for New Zealand soon.

16-year-old Lilicama who has got a scholarship to study at St Kevin's College in North Otago, New Zealand said the boys put up a brilliant performance against Lelean.

Marist also won the Under-16 final where they beat Natabua High School 16-7.

Meanwhile, Queen Victoria School has won the Under-14 and Under-15 finals.

QVS defeated Marist Brothers High School 21-19 in the Under-14 final and then beat Ratu Navula 12-3 in the Under-15 final.

RKS defeated Lomaivuna High School 18-7 to claim the Under-19 title.

The Coke Zero Deans Under-18 final between RKS and Lelean will kick off at 3.45pm today at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
