Marist Brothers High School has claimed all the titles in the Southern Zone secondary schools rugby finals.
This after their Under-18 side was awarded the win after they drew 16-all with John Wesley College.
The scores didn’t change after two spells of extra time and according to the rules the team that scored the first points will be awarded the win and in this case Marist scored the first points in the match through a try.
Marist won the Under 14, 15, 16 and 17 grades.
A minute of silence was observed before the final for the late Marist coach Eroni Vereivalu.
In the Western Zone defending Coke Zero Deans champions Ratu Navula spoiled Natabua High School’s aim for a clean sweep after they retained their under-18 title with a 24-5 win.
Natabua was aiming for a clean sweep after winning the under 14, 15, 16 and 17 titles.
Looking at the Eastern Zone RKS beat Sila 5-0 in the Under-18 while QVS defeated Lelean Memorial School 9-6.
In the Under-16 RKS pipped Lelean 10-9, RKS won by default over Rewa secondary in the under-19 and Lelean hammered QVS 30-6 in another under-19 match.
