Marist and Saint Joseph win Suva Zone 2 titles

Marist Brothers High School and Saint Joseph’s Secondary School have successfully defended their titles in the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2 at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Marist won the Boys Division with 28 gold, 23 silver and 17 bronze.

Suva Grammar School finished second with 20 gold, 19 silver and 14 bronze while Gospel High School finished third with 1 gold, 6 silver and 12 bronze.

In the Girls Division,  Saint Joseph's Secondary School won 25 gold, 17 silver and 15 bronze, Suva Grammar School finished in second place with 13 gold, 17 silver and 7 bronze while Beqa Yanuca Secondary School finished in third place with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

Tony Lemeki of Marist Brothers High School won the Senior Boys 100 metres final at the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2 with a manual time of 10.86 seconds.

Malasebe Tuvusa of Suva Grammar School settled for second place with a manual time of 10.89 seconds but managed to won the senior boys 200 metres.

Mereoni Naitau of Lomary Secondary School won the Senior Girls 100 metres final with a manual time of 13.35 seconds. Naitau also won the senior girls 200 metres final.

In other grades, Joseva Tabakaucoro of Marist Brothers High School won the 100 metres Intermediate Boys final with a manual time of 10.72 seconds.

Heleina Young of Saint Joseph’s Secondary School won the Intermediate Girls 100 metres with a manual time of 12.08 seconds.

In other events, Sailasa Vonotabua of Suva Grammar School won the Senior Boys 400 metres final while Vuate Karawalevu of Marist Brothers High School won the Intermediate Boys 400 metres.

A total of 13 records were broken at the Suva Zone 2 yesterday.
