Man City forgot to attack - Guardiola

Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola says his side "forgot to attack" against Swiss club Basel as they suffered their first home defeat since 2016 but still reached the UEFA Champions League quarter‑finals.

City lost to Basel 2-1 this morning in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16.

City's 4‑0 away win in the first leg meant today’s match was almost a formality but Manager Pep Guardiola rested several top players.

Tottenham's UEFA Champions League ambitions came crashing down as Juventus produced two goals inside three second‑half minutes to win 2-1 and decide the destiny of their last‑16 tie.

For Spurs, who last reached the Champions League quarter‑finals in 2010‑11, it was a first defeat in 18 matches, while Juventus are unbeaten since 22nd November last year ‑ a run of 20 games.

Tottenham is the first English team to be eliminated from this season's UEFA Champions League.
