Fiji Football Association’s CEO Mohammed Yusuf says they have been given assurance by the Ba Town Council that major upgrade works at Govind Park is expected to finish by March or April next year and the ground is expected to officially open with the Vodafone Fiji FACT in May next year.
The pavilion at Govind Park suffered major damages during Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016 and since then there have not been any major sporting events in Ba.
Yusuf says Govind Park will have Bucket seating which will be the first for the Western Division.
The government is funding the project and the cost of the Govind Park construction project is $4.12 million.
