Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has highlighted that local players will be selected for the opening leg of the IRB World 7s Series.
Ryan believes that there are players currently training in the squad who are capable of producing the results needed to kick start their campaign.
Despite retaining a core of his squad from last season, Ryan has maintained his stand that no player is guaranteed a spot in the team for the upcoming IRB World 7s series.
Speaking to Fijivillage said he will not change his selection criteria as players will only be considered based on form and performance.
Ryan confirmed after the two weeks camp, two teams will then be selected to take part in a local 7s tournament in Ovalau and a tournament in Australia which will also serve as their build up for the first IRB World 7s tournament in Gold Coast.
The first leg of the 2014/2015 IRB Sevens Series in Gold Coast will be held on the 11th and 12th of October.
