25-year-old Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan has been sentenced to 40 hours of unpaid work and a community order for assaulting his girlfriend.
Flanagan pleaded guilty to the allegations laid against him.
The footballer slammed his partner against the wall and kicked her while she was on the floor.
Liverpool has strongly condemned the 25-year-old’s actions and has stated that the club will be considering internal disciplinary action.
Meanwhile, Manchester City still lead the English Premier league points table with 62 points while Manchester United is second with 50 points.
Liverpool is third with 47 points.
