Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan is expected to name a less experienced team to the Pacific Games.
With the team having their first training session this afternoon, Ryan has told Fijivillage that this is a good opportunity for new players to wear the white jersey.
Ryan is also working with the Fiji Under 18 sevens side that is preparing for the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa in September.
Some of the names that are expected to be named in the side are Wardens and Namosi winger Abele Yalayalatabua, Telecom Fiji Warriors and Nadroga midfielder Eroni Vasiteri, Viliame Mata and Josaia Wini.
The Pacific Games 7s competition will be held next Wednesday to Friday.
Fiji’s first pool match will be against Papua New Guinea at 3.28pm next Wednesday.
Fiji will then play Guam at 6.46pm and face Solomon Islands at 10.04pm.
Fiji’s last pool match will be against Tahiti at 4.20pm next Thursday.
The quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be played next Friday.
