Lautoka Maroons lead the overall medal tally at the 2017 Western FMF Chow Games with 11 gold, 15 silver, and 7 bronze, Nadroga follows closely with 8 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze while Nadi is in 3rd place with 7 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze.
This is the first time that the Western FMF Chow Games is using the track at Churchill Park and as a result, performances quickly improved and 10 individual records were set.
Ra scooped all the 1500m finals and set 3 of the 10 individual records that were set on day 1.
Ateca Rakavosa of Ra in the Under 12 Girls 1500 meters clocked 5 minutes 18.59 seconds, Iosefo Waqawai also of Ra in the Under 13 Boys 1500 meters ran 4 minutes 47.49 seconds while Filomena Ravuiwai also of Ra in the Under 14 Girls 1500 meters clocked 5 minutes 22.60seconds.
Other records broken includes that of Mere Vocevoce of Navosa in the Under 11 Girls 200 meters who ran 28.65 seconds, Aminiasi Tavailagi of Nadroga in Under 9 Boys Long Jump recorded 4.19 a jupm of meters.
Luse Turaganiwai of Nadi in the Under 12 Girls ran 200 metres to scoop 28.16 seconds, Saivora Nareba of Nadroga in the Under 13 Girls 200 meters ran 26.30 seconds, Adita Milinia of Nadroga in the Under 14 Girls Long Jump, jumped 4.73 meters while Ratu Alipate Vuiwakaya of Lautoka Maroons in the Under 13 Boys 200 meters clocked 25.02 seconds and Unaisi Tagabale of Nadroga in the Under 14 Boys 200 meters ran 26.32 seconds.
Meanwhile in Central division Veiuto Primary School leads by 13 gold, 15 Silver and 8 Bronze while defending champion Suva 1 is in second place with 11 Gold,10 Silver and 11 Bornze.
The games continue today at the ANZ stadium in Suva for the Central FMF Chow Games while the Western Chow Games continues at the Churchill park in Lautoka.
