England coach Stuart Lancaster has warned his players that they will be facing a “quality” Fiji team capable of spoiling their World Cup dream in the opening game of the tournament.
Lancaster and his assistant Andy Farrell were among the spectators as Fiji scored five tries in a 47‑18 victory against Canada on Monday morning.
Lancaster will spend this week highlighting the dangers posed by the Flying Fijians, who his side faces next Saturday.
Lancaster says everyone has been talking about Wales and Australia, but it is Fiji that they should also be worried about.
He adds they will be aiming to use much quicker line speed than Canada produced to put Fiji under pressure.
Fiji had lost all five previous matches against England, with the teams having last met at Twickenham in 2012, when the hosts won 54‑12.
To date, the 82,000 tickets at Twickenham have been sold out on the opening clash between Fiji and England at 7am next Saturday.
