The Lami soccer team has a lot to play for in the Vodafone Senior Playoff against Nasinu this Saturday as they aim to make their first appearance in the Premier competition of Fiji soccer.
The Lami Soccer Association was formed in 1978, under the presidency of Johnny Singh and since then they have played in the second division.
The side needs to beat Nasinu this weekend if they are to have a chance of progressing to the top competition in the next season.
Lami has beaten Nasinu twice this year in the senior league but could not beat Nasinu in the first leg of the playoff as they went down 1-0.
Lami’s Coach, Deepak Chand says they were caught a bit off-guard against Nasinu in the first leg but they will come prepared for the second leg.
Lami has a number of capable players like Nickel Chand, Manasa Levaci, Ravneet Chand, France Catarogo, Waisake Ravuiwasa and Ashish Chand.
A draw or win will take Nasinu in the Premier competition while a loss will give Lami an opportunity to progress through as they currently have three points.
Lami will have a match remaining against Savusavu who do not have any chance of progressing to the top competition.
