Ba and Labasa played to a 1-all draw in an entertaining Group B clash at Govind Park in the Courts IDC.
Ba’s Laisenia Raura opened the account in the 45th minute of the first half when Labasa defenders made a mistake and Avinesh Suwamy made a well-timed pass to Raura who casually kicked the ball in the goalmouth.
But, Labasa cut short Ba’s enjoyment after Ravinesh Karan Singh equalised just after a minute heading the ball in the right hand corner of the Ba goalmouth from a Edwin Sahayam cross.
The hosts applied immense pressure in the final stages of the match to get the winning goal but Labasa defence stood tall and did not allow Ba to score any more goals.
Both, Labasa and Ba just need a draw in their matches tomorrow to qualify for the semis from Group B.
They have 4 points each with Labasa having a better goal average.
Meanwhile, in another thrilling match, Lautoka defeated Suva 2-0 with Jone Vono Junior scoring both the goals.
