The PNG Kumuls arrived in the country last night and they are looking forward to this weekend’s Tri-Nations games against Fiji and Australia.
PNG Rugby league board member Graham Osbourne says that the Kumuls need this game as they build up to the Rugby League World Cup and the team is also looking forward to returning to PNG with a trophy on Sunday.
PNG Captain David Mead says that the team has a lot of experienced players and the Tri-Nations Test match will help them identify their weaknesses before they proceed with their World Cup preparations.
Mead adds that the squad includes 11 PNG Hunters players who have been travelling back and forth to Australia to play for the Intrust Super Cup and this would certainly boost the Kumuls.
The Tri-Nations Series will start at 5.30pm Saturday with the Fiji Bati taking on the PNG Kumuls, the Kangaroos will face the Kumuls in the second game before the Bati will take on the Kangaroos in the last game. Each game will be played for 40 minutes.
