Former Wellington Phoenix Star, Roy Krishna will play in India after he signed a one year contract with Indian Super League club, ATK.
ATK is an Indian professional football club based in Kolkata.
Krishna who finished the A League season with the Golden Boot Award after scoring 18 goals will join ATK from August.
Krishna who capped off a remarkable career at Wellington Phoenix in the A League ending this season as the club’s record goal scorer with 51 goals in 122 games says he is excited to explore new horizons on the Indian subcontinent.

He says 140 years ago, his forefathers left Kolkata, on board Leonidas in search of new opportunities in Fiji and he feels like they have come full-circle as he heads back to where it all began for them.
Krishna says he looks forward to introducing his new club and its fans to Fiji and is eager to promote Fijian tourism, people and culture while in India.
ATK’s home ground is 70,000 seater VYBK Stadium in Kolkata and it is the biggest football stadium in India.
ATK has won the Indian Super League twice out of its five editions in 2014 and 2016.
