Kevin Anderson fought back to beat Pablo Carreno Busta at the US Open and become South Africa's first Grand Slam singles finalist in more than 30 years.

Anderson, seeded 28th, beat the Spanish 12th seed in 4 straight sets in New York.

The 31‑year‑old will face Spanish world number one Rafael Nadal or 24th seed Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina in tomorrow's final.

Meanwhile Juan Martin del Potro will try to extend his thrilling US Open run all the way to the final when he faces top seed Rafael Nadal in the last four later this afternoon.

The Argentine 24th seed came back from two sets down to beat Dominic Thiem in round four and beat five‑time champion Roger Federer in the quarter‑finals.
