Australia 7s player Simon Kennewell who suffered a knee injury that put him out of rugby for twelve months will return to the field in the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s this weekend in a bid to play the 2019 HSBC World Rugby 7s series.
Speaking to rugby.com.au, Kennelwell says it was heartbreaking to get injured just days before the Sydney 7s last year but he is looking forward to the Coral Coast 7s where he can hopefully impress coach Tim Walsh.
Kennelwell will feature for the Australia Development 7s team in the Coral Coast 7s.
The Coral Coast 7s will be held from tomorrow to Saturday with the Men’s competition to be held on Friday and Saturday while the Women’s competition will be held on Thursday and Friday.
The Youth competition will be held tomorrow and Thursday.
