The talented Jordie Barrett has been named at fullback for the Hurricanes for tomorrow's clash with the Reds at Westpac Stadium.

Peter Umaga‑Jensen will wear the No 12 jersey instead, in what will be his Hurricanes debut.

Lock Vaea Fifita has recovered from last week's head knock and been named on the bench for tomorrow.

Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd hopes to preserve New Zealand sides' 39‑game win streak against Aussie teams.

Halfback TJ Perenara will be captain against the Reds, in what's his first start since suffering a knee injury on April 6 and  regular skipper Brad Shields has been named on the bench.

Blade Thomson will play No.8 instead, with Reed Prinsep in Shields' usual spot on the blindside flank, Nehe Milner‑Skudder to start on the right wing, with Julian Savea dropping to the bench.

The Hurricanes will face the Reds at 7.35 tomorrow.

Saturday, the Sunwolves will face the Stormers at 5.15pm, the Blues will take on Crusaders at 7.35pm while the Waratahs meet the highlanders at 9.45pm.

Hurricanes team to play the Reds: Jordie Barrett, Nehe Milner‑Skudder, Matt Proctor, Peter Umaga‑Jensen, Ben Lam, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara (c), Blade Thomson, Ardie Savea, Reed Prinsep, Sam Lousi, Michael Fatialofa, Jeff To'omaga‑Allen, Ricky Riccitelli, Toby Smith.
