34-year-old, Jone Vono Junior will make a comeback for the Lautoka soccer team in the Inkk Mobile BOG.
This would be a timely return for Vono as top players like Kavaia Rawaqa, Pranil Naidu, Afraz Ali and Sairusi Nalaubu are leaving the Blues while Kolinio Sivoki has been suspended.
Lautoka is in dire need of attackers as Solomon Islander, Benjamin Totori may also not feature for Lautoka.
Jone Vono Junior is best remembered for kicking one of the winning penalty kicks against Nasinu in the Fiji Fact final in 2002.
Vono was just 17‑years‑old then and was a form six student of Tilak High School when he scored for the Blues 17 years ago.
Lautoka which last won the BOG three years ago in Nausori will face Nasinu at 1.30pm this Friday in its first group match.
In other Day 1 matches, Ba will play Tavua at 3.30pm, Labasa will face Suva at 6pm and Rewa will take on Nadi at 8pm.
