The New Zealand 7s team has named their team to the Commonwealth Games and the most notable omission from the squad is Etene Nanai‑Seturo and Fiji born winger Joe Ravouvou.
Nanai‑Seturo and Ravouvou misses out after featuring in the last four legs of the sevens circuit in Sydney, Hamilton, Las Vegas and Vancouver.
New Zealand sevens coach Clark Laidlaw says Ravouvou would have been selected but does not qualify to play in the Commonwealth Games as he does not hold a New Zealand passport.
Meanwhile, Vilimoni Koroi was named alongside veteran sevens star Tim Mikkelson, blues winger Caleb Clarke, Ngarohi McGarvey‑Black, Scott Curry, Dylan Collier, Sam Dickson, Trael Joass, Andrew Knewstubb, Sione Molia, Kurt Baker, Joe Webber and Regan Ware.
New Zealand are drawn in Pool C with Canada, Kenya and Zambia
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team is expected to name their team tomorrow.
Fiji is pooled with Wales, Uganda and Sri Lanka.
The Commonwealth 7s will be held from the 13th to the 15th of next month.
