Jarryd Hayne survives first cut at San Francisco 49ers

Jarryd Hayne has survived the first official cut at the San Francisco 49ers, as he has been named in the team’s 75‑man roster.

The 49ers had to cut 14 players from their 89‑man roster ahead of their final pre-season trial against the San Diego Chargers.

Hayne’s selection comes after his stunning debut against the Houston Texans just over a fortnight ago and an even more impressive performance against the Dallas Cowboys last week.

However the 27‑year‑old still has a nervous wait ahead of him with the final 53‑man roster to be named this Sunday.
