Akira and Rieko Ioane are due back with the Auckland Blues this week after starring roles in the Sevens World Series with New Zealand.
The two young talents are in contention to be part of the Blues' final pre‑season friendly against the Chiefs next week prior to the start of the season.
Akira and Rieko appear set for breakout years in Super Rugby with the Auckland franchise although the coaching staff will be keen to not push them too hard in terms of their fitness.
Assistant coach Alistair Rogers says Gordon Tietjens has advised all the Super Rugby teams to go easy on the sevens players as they require more light work and not too many heavy training.
