All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster praised the decision making of star first‑five Beauden Barrett, following his drop goal heroics in yesterday’s 16‑15 win over England at Twickenham.
Having been 15‑0 down, the All Blacks fought back to record a famous one‑point win, in which Barrett kicked his first ever drop goal at international level, coming in his 71st Test match.
Speaking to media afterwards, Foster commented on the maturity shown by Barrett to have a shot at goal when the opportunity to attempt a try was also on the cards.
Captain Kieran Read also revealed that the decision was entirely down to Barrett, with the senior leadership group unaware of his intention to kick at goal.
The All Blacks will now take on Ireland at 8am this Sunday in their Northern Test Tour at Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
