Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber has told Fijivillage that he has been impressed with some players after the first round of pool matches in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s this morning.
He says that he will pick any outstanding player in the Marist 7s to be part of the squad to the Hong Kong and Singapore 7s.
There was a major upset in the Marist 7s this morning as Can Do Generation which is made up of new players from the CMF Youth Group in Vanua Levu beat Hideaway Hurricanes 12-5 in their first pool match.
Jasa Veremalua, Alivereti Veitokani and Nemani Nagusa played for the Hideaway Hurricanes.
Banuve Tabakaucoro was also impressive for Police Blue as they beat Wadigi Rugby 24-17 in their first pool match.
Tabakaucoro scored a last minute try to help Police Blue win the match.

Marist 7s defending champion, Tabadamu Blue beat Naboutini Rugby club 31-5 in their second pool match.
Other results after Round 2 of pool games, Police Blue beat Vatu-nilumi Brothers 43-0, Hideaway Hurricanes defeated Kawai Homestay Qereqere 24-5, Waidigi Rugby club beat Sofitel Link 28-14, Trail Blazers defeated Red Diamond 19-7 and Dreketi Rugby club beat Can Do Generation 12-10.
