Fiji’s soccer sensation, Roy Krishna was once told he is too short and was not considered for the A League Club, Wellington Phoenix.
As the former Wellington Phoenix star gets ready to embark on a new journey with Indian Super League club, ATK, Krishna has revealed that he attended a trial at Wellington Phoenix in 2010 but was told something that he never wanted to hear.
However, Krishna never stopped working hard to accomplish his dream of playing in the A-league.
In an interview with FijiVillage Krishna also revealed that he had major problems in understanding what the coaches were talking about during training as the coaches would talk too fast.
Krishna says there were some players from Solomon Islands who would also not understand and they would later discuss on what the coaches were telling the players.
Krishna has also told us that he now has more strength on the field and this has happened after marrying Naziah Ali who is from Ba.
Krishna who finished the A League season with the Golden Boot Award after scoring 18 goals will join ATK from August.
Krishna capped off a remarkable career at Wellington Phoenix in the A League ending this season as the club’s record goal scorer with 51 goals in 122 games says he is excited to explore new horizons on the Indian subcontinent.
