The Hurricanes continued their unbeaten run with a 36-12 victory over the Melbourne Rebels last night.
The Hurricanes began with plenty of momentum, however they struggled to convert the territory into points.
It was the Rebels that put first points on the board through.
The Hurricanes opened their points with a try to halfback TJ Perenara.
The Rebels continued to ask a lot of the Hurricanes defense, which was able to withstand the challenge, just poor discipline letting them down and the Melbourne side capitalized.
The Hurricanes started the second half with plenty of intent and it paid off, as they turned down the opportunity of an easy penalty kick to take the lineout.
It resulted in the forwards helping get Cory Jane across the line in the corner for the game’s second try.
It was the Hurricanes who dominated play early in the second half, managing to secure their third try through flanker Callum Gibbons.
The Hurricanes inflicted more pain on the Rebels with reserve utility back Nehe Milner-Skudder getting across for two late tries.
Also in another match last night, the Lions beat the Reds 18-17.
In today’s matches, the Chiefs meet the Cheetahs at 3.30pm, the Highlanders play the Stormers at 6.35pm while the Waratahs take on the Blues at 8.40pm.
