Hurricanes assistant coach Jason Holland believes his side can still improve and says they need to get back to basics as they prepare to take on the Chiefs on Friday night in Hamilton.
Holland says the winless Chiefs will be a dangerous team and that the Hurricanes can not afford to be complacent.
Holland adds that Chiefs will be desperate for a win during this week.
Holland admitted that his team were guilty of trying too hard on attack on Saturday when things were not spot on.
The Hurricanes sit second in the New Zealand Super Rugby standings on 13 points, while the Chiefs linger in last place on one point.
The Hurricanes play the Chiefs at 6.35pm Friday.
