Muni Shalit Reddy who drowned in Samoa while on an excursion with the Vodafone Fiji Under 17 soccer team was laid to rest at the Nadovi Cemetery this afternoon.
Hundreds of people were present at the funeral to pay their last respects to the seventeen year-old.
Reddy’s grandfather Muniappa Reddy who escorted his grandson to the Nadovi cemetery said he is very sad and at the same time shocked with the loss.
He said that his grandson has made his family very proud in representing Fiji.
The Nadi Football Association Director, Javed Ahmed said Reddy’s death is a big loss as they wanted to include him in the Nadi Soccer team this year.
Meanwhile, Fiji Football Association President Rajesh Patel said Reddy’s passing is a great loss to the football community.
