The Highlanders paid their respects to the Christchurch terror victims visiting the Al Huda Mosque in Dunedin before departing for Auckland.
The Otago Super Rugby franchise gifted the Muslim community flowers and a special embroidered jersey.
The gifted Highlanders jersey displayed the message: In loving memory of the lives lost at the Masjid Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Islamic centre, 15 March 2019. You are us.
Last Saturday, the Highlanders suspended their Super Rugby match with the Crusaders as a result of the attacks.
The Highlanders will now take on the Blues at Eden Park at 6.35 tonight.
Tomorrow the Hurricanes will face the Stormers at 6.35pm while the Waratahs take on the Crusaders at 8.45pm.
On Sunday the Bulls will face the Chiefs at 1.05am, the Sharks will take on the Rebels at 3.15am and the Reds will meet the Brumbies at 5.05pm.
