The Hayne plane continues to fly through turbulence as the saga surrounding the star fullback’s future at the Gold Coast took another turn on the weekend.
Jarryd Hayne was ruled out of Friday night’s clash against former club Parramatta with an ankle injury and according to Fairfax Media and didn’t turn up at ANZ Stadium to watch the game.
The ongoing feud between Hayne and coach Neil Henry is threatening to tear the Titans apart.
Reports emerged after crisis talks last Monday suggesting Henry would be sacked and gun playmakers Ash Taylor and Kane Elgey would not re‑sign with the club if the 56‑year‑old remains in charge.
The club maintains no official decision has been made on either man’s future but if Hayne snubbing Friday night’s game is true, it’s hardly likely to endear himself to Titans fans or club powerbrokers.
The Titans will take on the Bulldogs at 5pm Saturday.
