Flying Fijians utility player Vereniki Goneva has helped the Newcastle Falcons pull off a great upset in the English Rugby Premiership competition.
Goneva scored a try in the 25th minute of play to help the Newcastle Falcons secure a 28-20 win against the Exeter Chiefs this morning.
The Exeter Chiefs currently lead the competition table.
The 33-year-old joined the Falcons last season.
He was short‑listed for European Player of the Year in 2015, scoring 44 tries in 92 appearances during his four seasons with the Leicester Tigers.
Josh Matavesi also played for the Newcastle Falcons starting at outside centre.
Gabby Lovobalavu also started for the Wasps which lost 38-15 to the Saracens.
Meanwhile, wing Joe Cokanasiga continues to prove himself to England coach Eddie Jones after scoring an impressive try for London Irish in their 19-15 defeat to the Leicester Tigers.
Cokanasiga is included in England’s Six Nations training squad.
