Fiji Soccer Head Coach Christophe Gamel has been cleared off any wrong doing by an independent committee which was tasked to look into allegations of assault.
The President of the Fiji Football Association, Rajesh Patel has confirmed this to Fijivillage saying the committee has come back with a report and Gamel has been cleared from allegations of assault.
Patel says Gamel will continue as the National Soccer Coach.
Renowned Ba soccer players who were part of the Fiji Under 23 trials had claimed earlier this year that they were allegedly assaulted by Gamel.
The Ba Football Association had sent an email to the Fiji FA on 17th of January this year, complaining that Under 23 players namely, Amena Bolaitamana, Kalaveti Sivoi, Kini Madigi and Simione Nabenu were ill‑treated (verbal abuse and slapped on the head numerous times) by Gamel.
Gamel had denied assaulting or abusing players.
