The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians and the Georgians have only met twice in their history of rugby and this weekend’s game could decide who wins the most as the two teams have each won a game in their last two encounters.
Fiji won 24-19 in their first meeting back in 2012, while Georgia won 14-3 in their second meet in 2016 that was held in Suva.
Georgia is currently ranked 12th place in the World Rugby ranking which is three places away from Fiji who have just shifted to 9th place from 10th following their win against Samoa and Argentina’s loss against Wales in the June Test Series last weekend.
Flying Fijians Coach, John McKee says that it will take a strong line of forwards to stop the Georgians as they expect a strong physical game.
He has also commended Vereniki Goneva who set up two tries for Fiji last weekend and he is confident that Goneva will be exceptional if he is to be named again to play this weekend.
McKee will name his team later today.
The Flying Fijians will host Georgia at 3.30pm Saturday at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
In another match, Samoa will face Tonga at 1pm Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
