The Fijiana 7s team will be playing South Africa in the fifth place play-off after losing to Australia 17-10 in their last pool match of the Commonwealth Games 7s.
The Fijiana gave everything as they almost caused an upset to the Olympic champions.
Fiji’s tries was both scored by Miriama Naiobasali while Australia’s tries was scored by Emma Tonegato and two from Charlotte Caslick.
Both sides were locked 5-all at halftime.
The Fijiana had earlier lost to England 5-17 and beaten Wales 29-7.
They will now go through to play South Africa in the fifth-place play-off at 11.31pm.
Meanwhile in the main semifinal, Australia will play Canada at 12.59pm while NZ will take on England at 1.21pm.
