The Telecom Fijiana Sevens team retained their spot in next year’s World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series after finishing in 9th place of the final series standings and will be the top favorite in the Pacific Games.
The Fijiana also won the Bowl final of the Amsterdam Sevens after thrashing China 38-12.
Early in the competition, they beat Netherlands 15-5, drew 19-all with South Africa and lost to USA 36-14 in their first pool game.
Meanwhile, the top nine teams who will go into next year’s series are New Zealand, Canada, Australia, England, USA, France, Russia, Fiji and Spain.
The Telecom Fijiana will now return to the country and start preparations to defend their Pacific Games gold medal.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
